Job summary

Ingenious Solutions Inc. is seeking a Medical Coder Team Lead (Outpatient) to guide and grow a dedicated team of coders in an outpatient setting.

The role requires leadership to uphold accuracy, productivity, and client satisfaction, while mentoring staff toward higher performance. The candidate should have 3–5 years of PB coding experience, EPIC exposure, and a strong command of communication, with on-site work in Ortigas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical or allied medical fields.
• 3–5 years of professional billing/coding experience (PB coding).
• Experience with EPIC and supervising a team preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Medical Coding team to meet client objectives.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration across teams.
• Monitor productivity and quality metrics with monthly touch bases and quarterly reviews.
• Coach staff on accuracy and efficiency.

Have you been a Medical Coder and previously led a team? We’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for a Medical Coder Team Lead (Outpatient) who can bring their experience, support their team, and grow with us.

Role and Responsibilities

• As leader of his/her team, a supervisor is expected to guide his/her staff in the direction that follows the values set forth by the company.
• Foster a spirit of camaraderie and teamwork among team members, within the team itself and with other teams as well.
• Monitor and drive improvement of staff in regard to set productivity and quality metrics by providing timely monthly touch base and quarterly performance review.
• Coach and mentor outlying staff with regards to his accuracy and efficiency ratings
• As mediator between client and staff, a supervisor needs to ensure a clear and open communication between the team and the client.This includes attending and facilitating client meetings.
• Ensure that guidelines and metrics are understood and followed to meet client satisfaction
• Address any issues or concerns the client may have and ensure that the all stakeholders are looped in on all essential conversations
• Address any issues or misunderstanding the staff may have in the event new guidelines are set forth by the client
• As mediator between upper management and the staff, a supervisor will need to ensure all communication and directives coming from upper management shall be relayed to all concerned staff in a timely and accurate manner
• Sees to it that there is strict staff adherence to company policies and rules and regulations
• For proper dissemination of information, a supervisor should have a deep understanding of company policies as well
• To address all staff concerns with regards to such policies and to ensure proper channeling of any issues and concerns

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical or Allied Medical courses or equivalent in relevant clinical work experience.
• At least 3–5 years of Professional Billing (PB) coding experience (EM, SDS, etc.) with previous EPIC experience.
• With previous supervisory, team lead or POC experience is a plus
• Certified Coder AAPC or AHIMA
• Possess strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal skills and analytical skills
• Amenable to work on-site (Ortigas) and day shift schedule
