Yamaha Motor Philippines is seeking an IT System Delivery & Technology Platform Section Manager to lead and develop the IT team, directing technology projects and ensuring system reliability. This role translates divisional strategies into sectional plans, manages IT platforms including AI and cybersecurity, and aligns IT initiatives with business objectives.

Under the direction of the IT Department Manager, the IT System Delivery & Technology Platform Section Manager is responsible for leading and developing the IT team, overseeing the execution of technology projects, providing technical direction, ensuring the quality and reliability of systems, and coordinating with key stakeholders to align IT initiatives with the company’s business objectives.
The position is expected to translate the division’s mid-term and long-term strategies into concrete sectional plans and ensure their effective execution. The role will lead IT project management activities across divisions, coordinate budgeting with the Controller and Finance & Accounting team, and ensure that internal actions remain consistent with the company’s direction and HQ strategy.
The position will lead key technology functions, including Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, IT Infrastructure, Application Development, and Application Services. It will also support to strengthen IT governance, risk management, cybersecurity, business continuity, and emergency-response capabilities.
Beyond technical expertise, the role requires broad business knowledge and strong management capabilities in budgeting, people management, risk, compliance, and legal matters. The Section Manager will support other divisions as an IT business consultant and project administrator while ensuring the appropriate governance of the section.
As a prospective successor to the IT Department Manager and Division Head, the successful candidate is expected to develop the broader knowledge, strategic perspective, and leadership capabilities required for higher management responsibilities. The position also plays a critical role in mentoring employees, strengthening organizational capabilities, and developing future leaders who can grow together with the company.
Participate actively in the development of the division’s mid-term and long-term strategies.
Translate divisional strategies into clear sectional plans, programs, priorities, targets, and implementation activities.
Ensure consistency in internal decisions and actions in accordance with the company’s strategy.
Analyze relevant data and gather information to support strategic planning, decision-making, and performance monitoring.
Facilitate departmental and cross-functional activities in accordance with the approved mid-term and long-term strategy.
Monitor the progress of sectional plans and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Prepare management reports, project updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations for the IT Department Manager.
Lead the planning, development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of business systems and technology platforms.
Oversee IT functions related to Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, IT Infrastructure, Application Development, and Application Services.
Manage the end-to-end system development lifecycle, including business requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and post-implementation support.
Provide technical direction and guidance to developers, engineers, analysts, and other IT team members.
Ensure the reliability, performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability of assigned systems and platforms.
Evaluate existing technologies and recommend system improvements, modernization programs, upgrades, or replacement solutions.
Manage server environments, including operating systems, virtualization platforms, cloud-hosted servers, directory services, file servers, database servers, application servers, and backup systems.
Establish infrastructure standards, procedures, technical documentation, configuration baselines, and operating guidelines for network and server administration.
Monitor infrastructure capacity, system performance, availability, and resource utilization, and recommend upgrades or improvements before operational requirements are affected.
Coordinate with the cybersecurity team to identify, assess, and address vulnerabilities, security incidents, unauthorized access, and other infrastructure-related risks.
Lead the investigation and resolution of critical network outages, server failures, connectivity issues, performance degradation, and other infrastructure incidents.
Ensure that technology investments and solutions are practical, secure, cost-effective, and aligned with business requirements.
Lead sectional and cross-divisional IT projects from planning through implementation and completion.
Develop and review project charters, objectives, scope, schedules, resource requirements, budgets, risks, and expected deliverables.
Assign project responsibilities and establish clear accountability among project team members.
Monitor project progress and ensure delivery within the approved scope, timeline, budget, and quality requirements.
Coordinate with business divisions, subsidiary, headquarters, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify project risks, dependencies, issues, and resource constraints, and implement appropriate mitigation or escalation measures.
Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, decision-making sessions, and post-implementation evaluations.
Ensure that project documentation, approvals, change controls, and lessons learned are properly maintained.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
A master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline is an advantage.
Relevant training in project management, information security, IT governance, cloud technology, leadership, or business management is an advantage.
At least 3 years of management experience in an IT-related function.
Demonstrated experience in leading and developing technical teams.
Experience in managing application development, infrastructure, system delivery, or technology platform activities.
Experience leading cross-functional collaboration with other divisions, group companies, and headquarters.
Experience in IT project and program management.
Experience in IT vendor and service-provider management.
Experience in budget preparation, monitoring, forecasting, and cost management.
Experience in IT governance, risk management, cybersecurity, or business continuity is an advantage.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
Must be available to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays when required for system implementation, project deployment, maintenance activities, emergency response, or business continuity support.
Must be willing to provide leadership support during critical system incidents and other urgent IT concerns.
May be required to work beyond regular business hours during major project milestones, system cutovers, or scheduled maintenance.
