Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz in Aurora, CO seeks a Peer Recovery Specialist to support adults with substance use disorder as they enter care from the ED and transition into outpatient treatment at ARTS. This role draws on lived experience to engage patients, families, and caregivers, coordinating with CU Health ED, ARTS Potomac Street Center, and STRIDE CHC Potomac Street.

The position requires outreach, collaboration, and travel to multiple sites, with a 40-hour work week and weekend

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in SUD treatment navigation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assessment and treatment entry for individuals with SUD in CU Health ED.
• Facilitate transition to outpatient SUD/MAT at ARTS Potomac Street Center.
• Leverage lived SUD experience to support engagement in treatment.
• Track referrals and follow up with patients across sites.
• Engage patients and families to connect to prevention, diagnosis and follow-up sessions.
