Job summary

Airnergy and Renewables, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer to handle operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting for substations. The role requires recording all operations, coordinating with on-shift personnel, and ensuring smooth substation performance.

You will monitor equipment, perform switching operations, and communicate with Load Dispatcher. A BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology and 2+ years of related experience are required; R.E.E.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in substation operation and maintenance.
  • Preferably Registered Electrical Engineer.
  • Knowledgeable in operating and monitoring substation equipment, monitoring, and protective devices.
  • Knowledgeable in Fault/Alarm interpretation is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Can drive manual and automatic vehicle types with a valid driver's license.
  • Willing to be assigned anywhere in the Philippines.

Responsibilities

  • Controls equipment such as current converters, voltage transformers, and circuit breakers to regulate electricity flow through the substation and distribution lines.
  • Records readings from switchboard instruments to track electric power used and distributed from the station.
  • Performs switching operations and monitors electrical equipment and protection.
  • Communicates with Load Dispatcher to report electricity received and receive switching instructions.
  • Observes switchboard indicators for disturbances (grounded/shorted/open circuits).
  • Operates circuit breakers to interrupt current during repairs and connects alternate circuits to carry load.
  • Records transformer temperatures at specified intervals.
  • Inspects transformers, pumps, fans, batteries, and circuit breakers for defects.
  • Operates auxiliary generators and holds Substation Operator roles (Generation/Automatic).
  • Controls multiple remote substations from central switchboard.
