Job summary

Airnergy and Renewables, Inc. is seeking a Substation O&M Technician to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot substation equipment to ensure smooth plant operations.

You will handle turnover with the next shift and assist in forecasting and reporting tasks, as well as perform switching and preventive maintenance. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical Vocational course, at least 2 years in Sub-Station O&M, and a valid license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Vocational Course.
• Minimum 2 years experience in monitoring and operation of Sub-Station O&M.
• Valid Professional License preferred.
• Knowledgeable in substation equipment monitoring and protective devices.
• Fault/Alarm interpretation knowledge is an advantage.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willing to be assigned anywhere in the Philippines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct turnover and coordinate daily with next shift Substation Engineer and other service providers during normal and abnormal conditions with the operation and maintenance of the plant.
• Assist Substation Engineer in Day Ahead Nomination and Week Ahead generation power forecasting.
• Assist Substation Engineer in preparation of daily generation report.
• Perform routing inspections and maintenance on equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers and protective relays to prevent failures and ensure operational stability.
• Coordinate and conduct joint meter readings with Plant Operations during shift.
• Conduct switching operation of Substation Equipment during normal and abnormal conditions, per instruction from authorized personnel.
• Conduct all isolation and restorations of line and/or any equipment in compliance to an approved switching sequence.
• Assist Substation Engineer in documentation of all switching operations performed.
• Monitor Operational Parameters on Plant Equipment.
• Gathers initial information such as annunciator panel indication, relay/protection actuated, relay targets (both sides of the zone for transmission line), weather, lightning arrester counters, and visual observations at the switchyard.

• Conducts switching operation of Substation Equipment during normal and abnormal conditions, per instruction from authorized

personnel.

• Conducts all isolation and restorations of line and/or any equipment in compliance to an approved switching sequence.
• Assists Substation Engineer in documentation of all switching operations performed.
• Monitors Operational Parameters on Plant Equipment.
• Gathers initial information such as but not limited to annunciator panel indication, relay/protection actuated, relay targets

(both sides of the zone for transmission line), weather, lightning arrester counters, and visual observations at the switchyard.

• Immediately reports all fault incidents including the initial information and coordination to different functional groups in the

Plant Operation.

• Performs hourly updating on the status of rectification being made until line/equipment is normalized on any sustained faults.
• Records all details of the tripping incident on the applicable form and on the operations logbook.
• Conducts the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Preventive Maintenance Schedules as specified in the Owners O&M manual.
• Adheres to strict safety protocols within the plant.
• Performs other tasks that the Substation Engineer or Supervisor may assign from time to time.
• Other tasks that the Substation O&M Supervisor/Engineer may assign.

Qualification Summary

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or any Electrical Vocational Course.
• With a minimum of 2 years experience in monitoring and operation of Sub-Station Operation and Maintenance.
• Preferably with Valid Professional License.
• Knowledgeable in operating and monitoring of substation equipment, monitoring, and protective devices.
• Knowledgeable in Fault/Alarm Interpretation is an advantage.
• With good Communication Skills.
• Can drive Manual and Automatic Vehicle Type with a valid Drivers License.
• Willing to be assigned in to any point in the Philippines.
