Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Guidance and Counselling required.
• Licensed psychometrician preferred.
• Proficiency with record-keeping, assessment tools and case management systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical professional standards in counselling.
• Experience in education or with youth is highly desirable.
• Competence in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple student cases and administrative duties.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in student wellbeing and guidance practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling to students addressing academic, personal, social and emotional concerns.
• Conduct initial assessments and intake interviews to understand student needs.
• Develop and implement guidance programs and interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and identify students needing support.
• Maintain confidential student records and document progress and recommendations.
• Assist with career guidance activities and post-secondary planning.
• Organize and facilitate workshops on study skills, stress management and personal development.
• Liaise with parents/guardians to discuss progress and home support.
• Identify at-risk students and refer to appropriate resources.
• Contribute to positive school culture and wellbeing initiatives.
