• Competence in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling to students addressing academic, personal, social and emotional concerns.
• Conduct initial assessments and intake interviews to understand student needs.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Guidance Associate to join our school in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. This role is fundamental to supporting the holistic development and wellbeing of our students, providing essential guidance and counselling services that contribute to their academic success and personal growth. As a Guidance Associate, you will work collaboratively with students, parents, educators and other stakeholders to create a supportive educational environment. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives during critical stages of their development.

Key responsibilities

• Providing individual and group counselling sessions to students, addressing academic, personal, social and emotional concerns

• Conducting initial assessments and intake interviews with students to understand their needs and concerns

• Developing and implementing guidance programs and interventions tailored to student needs

• Collaborating with teaching staff to monitor student progress and identify those requiring additional support

• Maintaining detailed and confidential student records, documenting sessions, progress and recommendations

• Assisting with career guidance activities, including interest assessments and post-secondary education planning

• Organizing and facilitating workshops and seminars on topics such as study skills, stress management and personal development

• Liaising with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and provide recommendations for support at home

• Identifying students at risk and referring them to appropriate internal or external resources and specialist services

• Contributing to the development and promotion of a positive school culture and student wellbeing initiatives

What we're looking for

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students, families and colleagues

• A bachelor's degree in Psychology or Guidance and Counselling

• Preferably a licensed psychometrician

• Proficiency in record-keeping, assessment tools and case management systems

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards in counselling

• Experience working in an educational setting or with young people is highly desirable
