Job summary

Brooke Charter Schools in the Boston area is seeking a Special Education Teacher (Student Support Coordinator) to build strong relationships with students and push them to excel academically and personally. You will collaborate with colleagues to ensure accommodations and develop intervention plans.

You may oversee drafting and maintenance of IEPs and 504 plans and participate in professional development throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or an equivalent credential.
• License or license eligible in special education.
• Knowledge of federal and state special education laws.
• Commitment to fostering diversity and anti-racist practices.
• Ready to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily support classes in math, science, life skills, and/or literacy.
• Participate in IEP and 504 meetings and related professional development.
• Oversee drafting, implementation, and maintenance of IEPs and 504 plans.
• Participate in child study team meetings.
