ESCA Incorporated is seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to lead calculations, 3D modeling, and detailing for steel and aluminium structures.
The role emphasizes hands-on design, BIM workflows, and ensuring stability while complying with Eurocodes/UK standards, wind and imposed loads. Collaboration across drafting and estimation teams is essential.
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Structural Design Engineer / Structural Designer to lead and execute structural calculations, 3D modeling, and design detailing. This role goes beyond CAD drafting—we are seeking a hands‑on technical designer capable of performing structural assessments, designing steel/aluminium connections, and ensuring structural stability across engineering projects.
Perform structural calculations, load assessments (including wind loads and imposed loads), and connection designs for aluminium and steel structures
Develop detailed 3D models and BIM workflows using Tekla Structures and/or Revit
Produce accurate general arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and detailed connection drawings using AutoCAD
Prepare precise Bills of Materials (BOM) and material take-offs to support project estimation and procurement
Ensure all structural designs maintain overall stability and adhere strictly to industry design codes and project specifications
Must be an experienced design engineer/designer capable of handling structural calculations and design logic (not purely a CAD drafter)
Proven background in structural engineering, structural design, and load analysis for steel and/or aluminium structures
Proficient in AutoCAD
Strong working knowledge of Tekla Structures and/or Revit (3D Modeling & BIM)
Experience working with Eurocodes / UK Standards is a strong advantage
Deep understanding of wind loading, imposed loads, connection design, and overall structural stability principles
