Job summary

Somewhere is seeking a Fractional Chief Financial Officer to guide growth for a portfolio of US-based SMBs. This independent contractor role is remote with US EST overlap, demanding superb communication and deep financial modeling capabilities.

Qualifications

2–5 years of CFO or fractional CFO experience supporting US-based SMBs.
3–7 years hands-on QuickBooks Online experience.
Deep expertise in financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, and Excel modeling.
Excellent written and verbal English; able to present to founders effectively.

Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Advisory & Client Relationship Management for multiple entities.
Interpret financial statements, review management packs, and guide business planning.
Translate accounting outputs into client-friendly narratives and strategic recommendations.
Advise on tax planning in coordination with internal teams; support growth strategies.
Develop budgets, rolling forecasts, and 13-week cash flow projections.
Analyze margins and costs to improve profitability and liquidity.
Create dashboards and KPIs tailored to each client’s industry.
