Job summary

SM Retail is seeking a Finance Manager in the Philippines, based in Metro Manila/Pasay, to oversee finance and accounting operations and provide strategic financial insights. The role emphasizes strong controls, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvements across the finance function.

You will lead a finance team, collaborate with senior management, and support business decisions with robust financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• CPA certification is an advantage.
• At least 12-15 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, controllership, operational finance, or commercial finance.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, financial analysis, and financial planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end finance and accounting operations, including statutory and management reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Manage financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, funding requirements, and financial analysis, providing insights and recommendations to support business and strategic decisions.
• Oversee tax-related activities, financial controls, and regulatory compliance while identifying and managing financial and business risks.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization of finance and accounting policies, processes, controls, and reporting practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage and develop the finance and accounting team while partnering with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support business objectives.
