Job summary

PHILIPPINE FISHING GEAR INDUSTRIES, INC. seeks an experienced accounting professional to supervise daily accounting activities, manage month-end and year-end closings, and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS across the organization.

You will lead a team of accountants, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and deliver management reports with variance analysis. Collaboration with audits, budgeting, and regulatory compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising finance functions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS.
• Excellent analytical and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately in compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Prepare management reports including financial summaries and variance analysis.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes for timely completion.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Ensure timely submission of financial data to senior management and external stakeholders.
• Lead and supervise the team, providing guidance and training to junior accountants.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting to prevent fraud.
• Assist with external and internal audits; provide supporting documentation on time.
• Support budgeting and periodic forecasts in coordination with other departments.
• Monitor financial performance against budget and analyze variances for senior management.
