The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing the planning activities within projects, ensuring that project timelines, resources, and budgets are optimized. This role involves preparing detailed project plans, monitoring progress, and working closely with project teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Strong understanding of construction processes, project lifecycles, and related engineering disciplines.
Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the construction, oil and gas, or related industries.
Must be licensed
Detailed Job Description:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and resources.
Break down projects into tasks and define milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
Provide input on project execution strategies and planning best practices.
Monitor project progress against the established plan, track delays, and identify potential risks.
Prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.
Analyze project performance data and provide corrective actions where necessary to meet deadlines.
Allocate resources effectively across various tasks, ensuring optimal resource usage.
Work with the procurement and HR departments to ensure timely availability of resources.
Assess manpower and equipment requirements for the successful execution of the project.
Identify potential risks in the project schedule and work with relevant teams to mitigate them.
Propose contingency plans in case of delays or changes to the project scope.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables.
Conduct project meetings to review schedules, discuss potential issues, and develop solutions.
