App Battery team is responsible for developing and maintaining a highly available, round-the-clock application deployment platform that currently hosts over 300 unique apps many of which are critical for the functioning of Akamai CDN that powers the internet. We are actively driving the evolution of our infrastructure by designing and building the next-generation App Battery platform powered by Kubernetes to ensure unmatched scalability and reliability.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As an SE-II, you will be responsible for development of cutting-edge infra apps that are critical to the platform. The ideal candidate should have a good background in development and deployment technologies, with a focus on Python and modern containerization.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining high-quality software applications, primarily using Python.
• Managing containerized applications using Docker and orchestrating them with Kubernetes.
• Implementing and managing robust CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on Jenkins.
• Ensuring secure deployment processes through vulnerability management and static code analysis.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have at least 3 years of professional experience in the software engineering industry.
• Have hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes
• Possess deep knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOPS)and be proficient in Linux administration and commands.
• Have familiarity in GitOps continuous delivery with ArgoCD, logging and observability tools such as Fluentbit and Logstash, and modern web development including TypeScript.
