Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain high-availability software for our global network. You will work on distributed systems with web and console interfaces in an international setting, collaborating with stakeholders and other engineers.

You will contribute to automation, observability, and identity management, participate in the full product lifecycle, and mentor peers while exploring new technologies to enhance testability,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, or related field.
• Have at least 4 years experience with programming in Python, Go and/or shell script.
• Have at least 4 years development experience on Linux/ Unix platforms.
• Have knowledge of common internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS and/or TLS/SSL.
• Have experience with git/Stash and Perforce version control systems.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities & a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing, designing, and implementing high availability systems software.
• Bringing new functionality to a portfolio of services focused on automation, observability and identity management.
• Supporting the full product life cycle - ideation, implementation, operation.
• Improving the ability of our software systems for testing, deployment, monitoring and maintenance.
• Mentoring less experienced engineers to ensure quality solutions are implemented.
• Evaluating emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
