Job summary

• Records production logs, non-conformance reports, and maintenance activities.

The SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Technician operates, sets up, and maintains automated machinery such as pick-and-place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens to assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs). They ensure production quality through inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Programs, loads, and operates SMT assembly machines according to work orders.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and debugging of SMT equipment to minimize downtime.
• Inspects PCBAs for soldering quality, component placement accuracy, and defects using automated optical inspection or X‑ray.
• Monitors line efficiency, balances SMT lines, and conducts solderability tests.
• Records production logs, non-conformance reports, and maintenance activities.

Must Have

• Graduate of any related Technical or Vocational course
• Experience in electronics manufacturing or operating SMT machine
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Knowledgeable in schematics, MS Office, and troubleshooting automation
