Job summary

Kaertech a Baracoda Company is seeking an SMT Production Supervisor to oversee daily SMT line operations, ensuring targets are met and quality remains high. You will lead and mentor SMT operators, enforce IPC standards, and coordinate with QA to resolve defects and improve processes.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in electronics/manufacturing and at least five years in SMT leadership, with strong problem-solving and communication skills to thrive under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SMT production or electronics manufacturing in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of SMT processes, solder paste application, and defect classification (IPC).
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards and ESD practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervises SMT line operations, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Ensures production targets, yield, and throughput are achieved.
• Monitors workflow to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
• Leads, trains, and mentors SMT operators and technicians.
• Assigns tasks, monitors performance, and provides feedback.
• Fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
• Enforces IPC standards and company quality procedures.
• Conducts inspections and audits to ensure product quality.
• Collaborates with QA engineers to resolve defects and improve processes.
• Identifies bottlenecks and implements corrective actions.
• Recommends equipment upgrades or process changes to enhance productivity.
• Prepares daily production reports and performance metrics.
• Maintains accurate records of line performance, downtime, and defects.
• Supports management in planning and forecasting production capacity.

Must Have

• Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field.
• With minimum five (5) years of experience in SMT production or electronics manufacturing in a leadership capacity.
• Strong knowledge of SMT processes, solder paste application, and defect classification (IPC).
• Has familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards and ESD practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
