Overview
The SME Business Development Manager is accountable for the strategic growth of the MSME segment through the development and management of key partnerships, acquisition of distribution channels, and implementation of targeted growth initiatives. This role encompasses the delivery of tailored, execution-ready solutions across MSME products including lending, deposit and ancillary offerings—while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with the bank’s commercial objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (Post-graduate in related field is a plus)
- 10-12 years experience in Philippine MSME lending with
- 8-10 years experience in business development, sales or partnership
- Proven track record in sourcing, closing and managing clients / partners, Deep understanding of segment needs and behaviour including SME lending models, unit economics, and credit frameworks
- Familiarity with Philippine MSME Banking compliance practices on BSP regulations such as contracts, data privacy, SBLAF, SFTG, etc. ideally in the MSME segment
- Strong balance of credit/risk and business profitability development
- Governance skills
- Knowledge of digital banking products/features
- Market and MIS analysis skills
- Time and project management skills
- Comfortable crafting custom offers and co-branded packages without excessive reliance on product teams
- Listens deeply to SME pain points and tailors solutions accordingly
