Job summary

WTA Architecture and Design Studio seeks a Site Engineer to provide construction site engineering resources, interpret designs, and ensure design requirements are met during construction. The role also involves office engineering tasks and managing document flow with external partners.

You will monitor construction progress, review drawings, perform inspections, and coordinate permits with city and government agencies, working closely with multiple contractors on-site.

Qualifications

• Must have a Mechanical Engineering degree and practical site coordination exposure.
• Familiarity with mechanical drawings, specs, and site inspection processes.
• Strong organizational and reporting abilities.
• Willing to work on-site and coordinate with multiple contractors.

About the role

As Site Engineer, you will provide construction site engineering resources and expertise during construction phases of projects to interpret designs, recommend adjustments to designs to meet site conditions, and ensure that design engineering requirements are complied with. You will also serve as Office Engineer, managing the flow of documents between internal and external partners and monitoring project progress.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret designs and recommend adjustments to designs to meet site conditions


• Monitor construction execution and provide inspection and witnessing of completed construction tasks to ensure construction conforms to design specifications


• Facilitate construction coordination and start-up activities


• Review all design drawings/specifications and make daily field inspections to support quality functions


• Perform quantity surveys for tracking and reporting


• Reconcile contractor progress payment requests


• Review contractor submitted project submittals for designer or Owner approval


• Prepare construction related reports based on job site inspections to keep project management informed of major changes that may lead to cost overruns and schedule delays


• Monitor and track deliveries of construction materials and Owner Supplied Materials


• Coordinate necessary permits and coordinate construction activities with city and other governmental inspection agencies

About you

• Graduate of Mechanical Engineering


• 0–3 years of experience in construction, site engineering, or related field


• Familiarity with mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction site coordination


• Strong organizational, coordination, and reporting skills


• Willing to work on-site and coordinate with multiple contractors


• Able to present your specific technical work in presentations and meetings


• Maintains a good client relationship
