ELVIL Construction seeks a Site Engineer to join our field team. You'll inspect work, enforce quality and safety, and coordinate between clients, PM, subcontractors, and suppliers. The role emphasizes on-site problem solving and documentation to keep projects on track.
You should have a Civil Engineering degree and be a licensed engineer with 2+ years of field or 3+ years office/construction experience, plus strong reading of drawings and use of AutoCAD.
We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our construction team. You'll spend most of your time in the field, visiting job sites to inspect work, ensure quality, and keep projects running smoothly and safely. You'll work closely with our Project Manager, subcontractors, clients, and consultants to coordinate all aspects of construction execution. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on-site, solving real-time problems, and seeing projects come to life.
Inspect & Oversee Construction: Visit job sites regularly to inspect work in progress, verify that completed work meets the plans and specifications, and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout construction.
Monitor Safety & Compliance: Conduct routine inspections for general project health and safety compliance; flag any issues to the Project Manager, Safety Officer, or appropriate parties, and help keep the job site running safely and efficiently.
Coordinate On-Site: Act as the point of contact between the client, our Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers. Make sure everyone understands the drawings and specifications, and that work is progressing as planned.
Attend Site Meetings: Participate in site walkthroughs and meetings with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers; prepare meeting minutes and follow-up documentation.
Document Everything: Create daily reports, correspondence, and notes on site issues, agreements, and communications. Maintain organised project records so the office always knows what's happening in the field.
Manage Project Documents: Track RFIs (Requests for Information), review contract documents, organise and file all project paperwork, and keep everything accessible and up-to-date.
Handle Changes & Estimates: Assist in scope changes, prepare cost estimates for variations, and help negotiate new scope with clients and subcontractors.
Quality & Contract Monitoring: Review materials as they arrive, monitor the quality of work, track that contractors are following the schedule, and ensure contract terms are being met.
Track Field Costs: Manage invoices and receipts for field purchase orders; maintain organised files and documentation for all field expenses.
Plan & Schedule: Help develop weekly and monthly work plans that track scope, budget, schedule, and safety objectives. Monitor progress against the construction schedule and review progress reports from various parties.
Problem-Solving in Real Time: You'll be the eyes and ears on the site, catching issues early and coordinating solutions before they become problems.
