Job summary

SLB Management in Manila is seeking a skilled Building Facade Shop Drawing Designer/Drafter to develop detailed shop and fabrication drawings for US facade projects, mainly NYC market. The role requires 3–5 years in facade drafting, strong AutoCAD and BIM coordination, and coordination with architects and engineers.

The position offers 10:00 am-6:00 pm PH time hours (40 per week). Initially remote, with on-site 3x weekly once the Makati office opens next year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in facade drafting or shop drawing production.
• Extensive knowledge of curtain wall, storefront, unitized curtain wall, and related facade systems.

Building Facade Shop Drawing Designer / Drafter

Location: Manila PH Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Building Facade Shop Drawing Designer/Drafter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of architectural facade systems and building envelope construction, along with strong technical drafting skills. This position is responsible for developing accurate and detailed shop drawings, and fabrication drawings for a variety of facade projects in the US - mainly for the New York City market.

Work Hours

• 10:00 am-6:00 pm (PH time), 40 hours a week.
• This is currently a fully remote position - but once the Philippine office in Makati is established early next year, candidates must be willing to be on-site 3x a week

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings for facade systems.
• Develop and maintain 2D drawings with AUTOCAD
• Knowledge of Revit and BIM is a plus
• Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate facade designs with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers.
• Produce construction-ready documentation for fabrication and field installation.
• Review project specifications, contract documents, and design intent requirements.
• Resolve technical design and detailing challenges related to facade systems.
• Ensure all drawings meet company standards, project requirements, and applicable building codes.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and respond to RFIs.
• Support project teams throughout design, fabrication, and construction phases.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facade drafting, shop drawing production, or facade engineering support.
• Extensive knowledge of building facade systems, including:

  • Storefront Systems
  • Unitized Curtain Wall
  • Window Wall Systems
  • Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) Panels
  • Metal Panel Systems
  • Glass and Glazing Systems
  • Rainscreen Cladding Systems
  • Architectural Louvers and Sunshades
• Strong understanding of building envelope performance, waterproofing, air barriers, and thermal systems.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a facade contractor, glazing contractor, or architectural metal contractor.
• Experience with fabrication and installation processes for facade systems.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, industry standards, and best practices.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering Technology, Drafting, Construction Management, or a related field.
