Job summary

Canon Business Service Centre Philippines is seeking a Server Engineer to configure, implement and maintain our IT systems infrastructure, focusing on servers and software applications. You will document hardware and system configurations, monitor status and coordinate testing for production changes.

Among required skills are strong Windows Server, VMware vSphere, Citrix, Active Directory and PowerShell expertise, plus 3+ years in systems administration and solid communication abilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Systems Administration experience.

• Proficiency in Windows Server, AD, SCCM and PowerShell.
• Experience with Citrix and VMware vSphere environments.

Job description

The Server Engineer is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the IT department. This person will focus on the administration of the company's systems infrastructure including servers and software applications. The Server Engineer will assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the company's systems operation and make

recommendations for implementation. The Server Engineer may also be required to guide and mentor junior IT staff on a regular basis.

• Secure applications, servers and networks
• Documentation of hardware, systems specifications and configuration
• Status monitoring of hardware, system and network components
• Setup and document internal and external backup and contingency plans
• Anticipate trends in computing that apply to systems administration - Operation Systems, Monitoring Systems, Databases, Application Servers, Security, Firewalls and Networking
• Assist other departments on hardware/network issues
• Use functional and non-functional expertise to contribute to project deliverables throughout the project lifecycle including systems analysis, data modelling, process modelling and preparation of system specification.
• Coordinate testing and change approval for all changes affecting the production environment
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by immediate supervisor/manager

Qualifications & Experience

• Tertiary IT qualification or better
• Systems Administration experience (3 Years +)
• Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
• Skills and experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server All Versions, SCCM, Active directory, GPOs, Powershell operations and scripting experience, Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc.)
• Strong skillset in VMware vSphere Enterprise/vCenter Server/ESXi
• Skills and experience in setting up and support of Citrix server environments
• Strong interpersonal and team skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency at leveraging precious resources.
• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
