Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands-on support across Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV security systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical incidents and projects, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, supporting installations and commissioning, and providing technical guidance to field engineers and other team members.
This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of customer service, documentation, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritise technical incident and project queues, ensuring issues are resolved within required timeframes.
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex hardware, software, networking, and operational issues involving Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field engineers and junior technical team members.
- Conduct and support installation, configuration, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of security systems.
- Attend client sites when required to perform onsite technical assessments, troubleshooting, installations, and system commissioning.
- Liaise directly with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and technical teams to identify requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Investigate recurring technical issues and recommend practical solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, system records, service reports, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with the evaluation, testing, and integration of new technologies, products, and systems.
- Provide technical input into projects, system upgrades, and new installations.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing and technical development.
- Ensure all technical work is completed in accordance with relevant industry standards, company procedures, and HSE requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Requirements and Competencies
- 5+ years of experience in technical engineering, security systems, IT infrastructure, or a related technical field.
- Strong hands-on experience with Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, installation, configuration, commissioning, and system integration.
- Strong understanding of security technology and related network infrastructure.

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, Windows OS, Excel, and server environments.
- Good understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident communicating with clients, field engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, support, and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
