Job summary

De Castro Consulting, based in Makati City, Metro Manila, is seeking a Systems Engineer (Level 2/3) to design, implement, and maintain complex systems infrastructure. This full-time role bridges junior staff and leadership, guiding architecture decisions while expanding expertise.

You will work with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive reliable, scalable solutions that meet client needs and business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of professional experience in systems engineering or related area.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid infra.
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and admin tasks.
• Solid networking, security concepts, and architecture principles.
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Excellent problem-solving and documentation abilities; clear communicator.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator are valued.
• Mentoring or training junior staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement system architectures for medium to large infrastructure projects.
• Conduct system assessments and performance analysis to identify optimisations.
• Develop technical documentation including specs, diagrams, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems effectively.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and implement sustainable fixes.
• Manage upgrades, migrations, and deployments with minimal downtime.
• Monitor performance and plan capacity for current and future needs.
• Participate in continuous improvement and engineering standardisation.
