About the role

We are seeking a Senior Developer to join De Castro Consulting in a full-time capacity, based in Manila City, Metro Manila. As a Senior Developer, you will play a crucial leadership role within our software engineering team, driving the development of innovative solutions and mentoring junior developers. This position is integral to our company's mission of delivering high-quality software products and services to our clients. You will be responsible for designing robust architectures, implementing best practices, and ensuring the technical excellence of our projects whilst contributing to the strategic growth of our engineering capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks
• Lead code reviews and establish coding standards to maintain high-quality code across all projects
• Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical direction and fostering their professional growth
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and DevOps engineers to deliver comprehensive solutions
• Architect system designs that balance performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing solutions that improve system reliability
• Participate in technical planning sessions and contribute to project roadmap discussions
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, sharing knowledge with the team
• Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with a strong foundation in multiple programming languages
• Proven expertise in full-stack development or specialisation in backend/frontend technologies
• Advanced understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and SOLID principles
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable software architectures
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex technical issues efficiently
• Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven track record of mentoring junior developers or leading technical teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is preferred
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous
