Job summary

REED ELSEVIER SHARED SERVICES (PHILIPPINES) INC. is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer III (Technical Lead) to join the End User Computing team.

This individual contributor role blends deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities as a SME for critical enterprise technologies. You will support Windows infrastructure, Active Directory, Entra ID/Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure), drive automation, and lead initiatives, incidents, and changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or engineering.
• 5–7 years of Systems/Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Experience as technical lead or SME for enterprise tech.
• Hands-on with Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, Entra ID/Azure AD, Microsoft 365, AWS/Azure.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and identity solutions (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead and SME for enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Support and maintain Windows infrastructure, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, AWS, and Azure environments.
• Lead technical initiatives, operational improvements, and project activities.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and system-related issues.
• Support incident response, major incidents, service requests, and change implementations.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and operational tools.
• Work closely with engineering teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Monitor system performance and drive service improvements.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide escalation support when required.
• Contribute to daily operational support and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer III (Technical Lead) to join our End User Computing (EUC) team. This is an individual contributor role that combines deep technical expertise with technical leadership responsibilities. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for critical enterprise technologies while supporting operational excellence, infrastructure initiatives, automation efforts, and continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead and SME for enterprise infrastructure technologies.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5-7 years of Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Experience serving as a technical lead, escalation point, or Subject Matter Expert.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Entra ID / Azure AD, Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), AWS and/or Azure Cloud Technologies.
• Experience with Incident Management, Major Incident Management, Change Management, Service Request Fulfillment, System Installation and Troubleshooting, System Recovery Procedures, and Virtual Server Environments.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience supporting SaaS platforms and enterprise identity solutions (preferred).
• Experience driving process improvement initiatives (preferred).
• Exposure to automation and infrastructure optimization projects (preferred).
