About the role

The Senior Survey Programmer is responsible for the end-to-end programming, testing, and support of online surveys using Forsta's Decipher platform. This role requires expertise in complex survey methodologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently manage programming workflows across multiple global projects. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical execution with process improvement, operational ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Program/script surveys across a variety of methodologies using Forsta's Decipher platform (XML, Python, JavaScript)

• Own the full survey programming lifecycle, including setup, logic implementation, testing, and live support across global teams

• Translate survey specifications into functional survey logic, including complex skip patterns, piping, randomization, and advanced survey flows

• Program advanced methodologies such as MaxDiff, Conjoint, volumetrics, and custom algorithms

• Implement and manage quotas, including complex quota structures, using Excel and Decipher tools

• Upload and integrate stimuli (images, shopping environments, findability assets) into survey code

• Perform data processing tasks such as creating derived/virtual variables, data weighting & editing, and supporting crosstab generation

• Conduct thorough QA testing, logic verification, and cross-device (mobile/desktop) compatibility

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during survey development and while studies are live in production

• Collaborate with project management, analytical/research teams, visual content teams, and panel providers to ensure smooth project execution

About you

• 4-5+ years hands-on experience of survey programming/scripting within market research or consumer insights environments preferably with Forsta's Decipher platform or other survey platform such as Qualtrics, Confirmit etc.

• Strong proficiency in XML, JavaScript, and Python

• Experience programming advanced survey methodologies (e.g., MaxDiff, Conjoint, algorithms, volumetrics)

• Solid understanding of survey logic & quotas

• Experience with Excel for quota management and data handling

• Experience with data processing/tabulation & weighting

• Strong QA and troubleshooting skills

• Demonstrated experience independently managing complex survey projects in live production environments

• Experience troubleshooting and resolving high-priority production issues under tight timelines

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
