Job summary

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Philippine Branch is seeking a Structural Engineer for a World Bank-funded public school retrofitting project in Metro Manila. The role focuses on reviews, assessments, and supervision to ensure safety, stability, and compliance with approved designs and standards.

Employment begins upon contract award. The candidate should have a Civil Engineering degree and be a licensed professional with at least 10 years of total experience, including 5+ years

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Must be a Licensed Civil Engineer.
• Total work experience: minimum 10 years.
• At least 5 years in similar structural engineering work.
• Experience in structural design, assessment, rehabilitation or retrofitting of buildings.
• Knowledge of applicable structural codes and engineering standards.
• Good English communication and technical report-writing skills.
• Experience in World Bank, ADB, JICA or other foreign-assisted projects is a strong advantage.
• Willingness to sign a Certification of Commitment for bid submission.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess structural drawings, plans and technical specifications.
• Evaluate structural conditions and recommend retrofitting or strengthening solutions.
• Provide technical guidance on structural construction and rehabilitation works.
• Monitor structural works to ensure compliance with designs and specs.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers and other technical personnel.
• Review structural calculations, design submissions and construction methodologies.
• Conduct site inspections and address structural engineering concerns.
• Prepare structural assessment reports and other technical documentation.
