Job summary

Tiger Data, formerly Timescale, seeks a software engineer to contribute to TimescaleDB Enterprise on-prem deployment and tooling. You will work across backend services (Go) and frontend interfaces (React + TypeScript) while applying Linux fundamentals and deployment automation.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, write tests, and help shape product decisions that balance speed, reliability, and customer value in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Foundational software engineering experience (roughly 1–3 years).
• Exposure to backend services, developer platforms, or infrastructure tools.
• Working knowledge of Go or TypeScript, or ability to pick up new languages quickly.
• Comfort with Linux fundamentals: shell, SSH, containers, and basic networking.
• Interest across multiple layers of a system, from backend to user-facing tooling.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of PostgreSQL, distributed systems, or deployment automation is advantageous.
• Experience collaborating with other technical contributors.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of TimescaleDB Enterprise, on-prem deployment and management platform.
• Develop core product capabilities: management consoles and user-facing tooling (React + TypeScript).
• Build backend APIs and services (Go).
• Create deployment workflows and configuration management (Ansible).
• Write tests across unit to end-to-end levels against real infrastructure.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to translate requirements into pragmatic solutions.
• Improve reliability, usability, and operational simplicity across the platform.
• Work with Platform Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.
