Reap is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Card Engineering team to build and operate services powering card transactions, fraud detection, and developer APIs. Based in the Philippines, you’ll collaborate with product, compliance, and other engineers in a fast-moving fintech environment, delivering scalable, observable backend systems with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of experience in fintech or platform teams, with TypeScript/Node.js

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in fintech or platform teams.
• Backend systems built in strongly typed languages such as TypeScript, Java, or Go.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, async processing, retries, observability.
• Ability to collaborate with product, risk, finance, and compliance teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving product environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services for card processing, fraud detection, and program management.
• Shape system architecture with focus on performance, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver robust financial systems.
• Write clean, well-tested code in a service-oriented architecture.
