Job summary

Mogul Construction in the Philippines seeks an experienced bookkeeper/accountant to review and fix the Chart of Accounts, record and adjust journal entries, and reconcile bank and credit card transactions.

You will automate recurring expenses and generate P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports, ensuring VAT/tax compliance and audit readiness. Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and QuickBooks Online Plus is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with QuickBooks Online Plus (not desktop version).
• At least 23 years accounting/bookkeeping experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (debits, credits, accrual, journal entries).
• Familiarity with the Philippine tax system (VAT, withholding tax) is a strong advantage.
• Experience cleaning up or migrating messy QuickBooks accounts.

Responsibilities

• Review and fix the existing Chart of Accounts to ensure proper structure and compliance.
• Record, adjust, and correct journal entries accurately.
• Categorize and reconcile all bank and credit card transactions.
• Set up rules and automation for regular expenses and income items.
• Generate standard financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Ensure tax compliance by maintaining properly classified and labeled accounts (e.g., input/output VAT).
• Work closely with the business owner or accountant for monthly reporting and audit readiness.
• Clean historical data and ensure transaction consistency.
• Manage QuickBooks Online integrations (e.g., banks, payroll, 3rd party tools if needed).
