The role involves coordinating with planning and procurement to deliver competitive proposals.
You will review drawings and specs, use AutoCAD to verify quantities, prepare BOQs, and analyze unit rates, productivity references, and risks that may impact bid performance.
The Senior Estimator leads the preparation and finalization of construction cost estimates used for bidding and proposal submissions. The role ensures quantity take-off accuracy, validated pricing and productivity assumptions, and complete documentation that supports a clear basis of estimate.
Lead preparation of detailed estimates based on plans, specifications, and tender requirements
Review take-off outputs for completeness, accuracy, and revision alignment
Use AutoCAD to verify quantities and resolve measurement gaps from drawings
Validate supplier pricing and build unit rate analyses (materials, labor, equipment, indirects)
Maintain and update productivity rate references used for estimating assumptions
Prepare BOQ and estimate summaries suitable for internal review and submission
Document assumptions, inclusions/exclusions, and clarifications for controlled revisions
Identify key cost drivers and estimate risks that may affect bid performance
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Relevant experience in construction estimating and BOQ preparation
Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
Proficient in AutoCAD and advanced in MS Excel
Strong understanding of productivity rates and unit production concepts
Estimating tools familiarity is an advantage but not required
Google SketchUp familiarity is an advantage but not required
