Job summary

XRF is seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer for an on-site role in Madrid. The candidate will translate complex customer needs into executable technical proposals and collaborate with Sales, Product and Engineering to win complex tenders.

The role emphasizes hands-on ownership from requirements gathering to delivering solid, coherent proposals, with a focus on Defence, public sector, and critical infrastructure environments.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in technical Pre-Sales or equivalent.
• Degree in Telecommunications, Software, Industrial or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience writing proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, tenders or complex docs.
• Ability to own a proposal from requirements gathering to final response.
• Experience with complex tech systems and integrations.
• Experience in Defence, public sector or critical infrastructure.
• Strong written communication of complex tech in English and Spanish.
• Ability to coordinate inputs across Sales, Product and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Gather and translate technical and operational customer requirements.
• Design and structure solutions together with Product and Engineering.
• Prepare technical proposals, RFP/RFQ responses and tenders.
• Coordinate technical and documentation inputs from internal teams and partners.
• Prepare technical documentation for projects and programmes, including European programmes.
• Participate in technical meetings with customers, integrators and other stakeholders.
• Ensure consistency between what the customer needs, what we propose and what we can deliver.
• Build the technical case that makes a solution win.
