Job summary

BMW Group in San Luis Potosi is seeking a Controls Advanced Specialist to lead the controls technologies and maintenance activities on highly automated production lines.

You will implement firmware/software/hardware updates, parameterize PLCs, support integration projects, and analyze downtime to drive preventive maintenance, with fluent business English and a background in electrical or mechatronics engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechatronics engineering.
• 3 years of plant planning or automation project experience.
• Strong knowledge of drive, control, and automation technology.
• Proficient in PLC programming with S7 Classic and/or TIA Portal; experience creating/editing visualizations in WinCC.
• Familiar with Ethernet, ProfiNet, and robot programming (KUKA a plus).
• Experience maintaining highly automated production lines.
• Fluent business English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete all controls technologies and maintenance activities such as firmware/software/hardware updates, program/logic changes, network configuration, digitization and innovative mindset.
• Ensure correct connection and parameterization of PLCs and line equipment to the Shopfloor system.
• PLC commissioning and management of library updates for standard software.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting for all devices and programming.
• Support planning for integrations and installation of equipment, including validations and acceptance processes.
• Analyze equipment downtime and faults to initiate/improve preventive maintenance activities/projects.
