Job summary

Symbotic is hiring a Maintenance TSU/Engineer to support the launch and ongoing operation of its automated warehouse system in Mexico. You will monitor system health, troubleshoot automation, and translate performance into actionable insights for site teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, and industrial networks, with strong problem-solving and communication skills. This is a site-based position in Guanajuato region, with travel up to 10% (60% during onboarding).

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (TSU or Bachelor) in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics/Automation/Robotics or related field
• Minimum 3 years supporting automated, robotic, electro-mechanical systems
• Experience in high-volume automated operations or industrial automation environments
• Hands-on PLC knowledge (Allen-Bradley/Siemens) and controls troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of ABB robotics and automated material-handling systems
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and equipment docs for root-cause analysis
• Bilingual Spanish and English; business English fluent preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize automated systems including robotic vehicles, conveyors, sensors, HMIs, and WES data
• Diagnose complex electro-mechanical, controls, software, networks, PLC, servo drives, and industrial Ethernet issues impacting uptime
• Communicate technical issues, impact, recovery timing, and recommended actions to site leadership and teams
• Conduct or support root-cause analysis and document SOP updates and health reports
• Collaborate with customer operations and Symbotic teams to resolve daily automation challenges
• Provide training and technical guidance to site personnel on automation behavior and safety practices
• Support launch, commissioning, ramp-up, stabilization and continuous improvement activities
• Backfill or support key activities to maintain site coverage and continuity
• Adhere to safety protocols including LOTO, PPE, heights work, and site-specific safety expectations
• Fluent in English; English proficiency required for communication with U.S.-based teams
