Job summary

FEV México is seeking a Controls Project Engineer to lead electrified powertrain and controls system projects. You will manage plans, schedules, budgets, and risks while coordinating design, software, and validation teams across multiple domains.

The role requires strong PM skills and a solid engineering background. The position involves heavy customer interaction, technical reviews, and ensuring conformance to requirements and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of project management in engineering programs.
  • Familiarity with electrified powertrain, controls, software, or vehicle development projects.
  • Ability to develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Good understanding of systems engineering, product development processes, and requirements management.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical development activities and customer requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams including controls, software, systems, calibration, validation, and vehicle integration engineers.
  • Strong customer-facing skills with experience leading technical reviews, status meetings, and project discussions.
  • Experience tracking project KPIs, milestones, deliverables, and financial performance.
  • Familiarity with automotive development processes including ASPICE, Functional Safety, and V-Model development methodologies (plus).
  • Knowledge of Electrified Powertrain architectures, vehicle controls, and embedded software development processes (plus).
  • Experience managing MiL, SiL, HiL, and vehicle validation activities (plus).
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint.

Job description

FEV is seeking a Controls Project Engineer – Electrified Powertrain & Controls Systems to lead and manage advanced engineering projects focused on electric powertrain, vehicle controls, software development, and system integration activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of projects while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, schedules, and budgets. The Project Manager will coordinate multidisciplinary teams across design, controls, software, systems, calibration, testing, and vehicle integration domains while serving as the primary customer interface. This role requires strong technical understanding of electrified propulsion systems combined with proven project management and leadership capabilities.

Requirements:
  • Good understanding of project management in engineering programs

Qualifications:

  • 1~3 years of experience in project management or program management roles
  • Advanced English (must)
  • Understanding of the following tools and processes used in automotive applications:
  • Microsoft Office Suite (must)
  • Vector CANape, CANalyzer, CANoe (plus)
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent Project Management certification preferred (plus)
  • Experience working with global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers preferred (plus)
  • Candidates with Master's degree in Engineering (plus)
