Job summary

CommandLink is seeking a senior backend engineer to own platform engineering, driving architecture and end-to-end delivery as we decompose a PHP monolith into Go microservices. You will build scalable Go services, API gateways, and data infrastructure while collaborating across time zones.

You’ll work with Kafka, Temporal, OpenSearch, Memgraph, and cloud infra, with strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and security. This is a 100% remote role with high autonomy and impact.

Qualifications

• This role requires 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend and distributed systems.
• Strong Go mastery including idiomatic patterns, concurrency, and context handling.
• Experience decomposing monoliths and building scalable microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead decomposition of PHP monolith into Go microservices with clear boundaries and data contracts.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Go services and API gateways with auth boundaries.
• Drive architecture discussions balancing speed with long-term maintainability.
• Shape distributed data infrastructure: Kafka, Temporal, OpenSearch, Memgraph.
• Integrate third-party APIs and network infra to extend platform capabilities.
• Support Terraform-managed cloud infrastructure and enforce security posture.
• Meet SLAs, CI/CD quality gates, and lead code reviews.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations.
