Job summary

Command|Link is seeking a senior platform engineer to own backend and distributed systems. You will decompose a PHP monolith into Go microservices, design scalable services, and shape the data platform, APIs, and observability for a global SaaS product.

You''ll lead architecture discussions, mentor engineers, and ensure robust, secure, and cost-aware cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure. This is a fully remote role with high autonomy and real impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with distributed architectures.
• Expert-level Go with concurrency patterns and idiomatic design.
• Hands-on experience decomposing a PHP monolith into microservices.
• Kubernetes expertise for container orchestration and OpenSearch for search workloads.
• Experience with Kafka, Temporal, Memgraph and data pipelines.
• Terraform for infrastructure as code and multi-environment configs.
• Strong networking, cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure), and security posture awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Decompose the PHP monolith into well-scoped Go microservices with clear boundaries.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Go services and API gateways.
• Lead architecture discussions balancing speed with long-term maintainability.
• Evolve distributed data infra: Kafka, Temporal, OpenSearch, Memgraph.
• Integrate with third-party APIs, telemetry, and network infrastructure.
• Support Terraform-managed cloud infra; enforce reproducibility and security.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and rigorous code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in distributed systems.
