Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join our Engineering Platform Team. You will deliver scalable platform automation, improve developer productivity, and drive AI-assisted engineering practices while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will lead initiatives in GitHub Actions, AWS infrastructure, and secure engineering enablement, ensuring high availability and efficient release cycles across international projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software or platform engineering.
• Proven technical leadership with mentoring and ownership skills (1+ years).
• Advanced proficiency in Python.
• Expertise in AWS and Terraform.
• Skills in GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise, and CI/CD.
• Background in Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Linux.
• DevSecOps experience with security tooling (SonarQube, CodeQL, Veracode).
• Familiarity with PagerDuty for incident response.
• Daily hands-on experience with Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, LLM fundamentals, and AI-assisted software development.
• Capability to introduce AI into engineering workflows.
• Strong written documentation skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable GitHub Actions.
• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Drive DevSecOps, security, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Establish AI development standards using Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
• Mentor engineers through architecture guidance, design discussions, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product Owner and Scrum Master on planning and delivery.
• Participate in production support and continuous platform improvement.
