  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years payroll experience with at least 2 years handling Philippine payroll independently.
  • Experience with multinational organizations or shared services environments preferred.
  • Experience with payroll vendors and systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle, ADP, CloudPay or similar) advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll for Philippines employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Review payroll inputs including hires, terminations, salary changes, allowances, deductions, overtime, leaves, and benefits.
  • Validate payroll calculations and conduct pre- and post-payroll audits.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll delivery.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory reports; manage year-end activities.

Job Summary

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees in the Philippines while ensuring full compliance with all statutory, tax, labor, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a subject matter expert for Philippine payroll legislation, government reporting, and statutory remittances, partnering closely with HR, Finance, external vendors, and government agencies to ensure payroll excellence and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
  • Process end-to-end payroll for employees in the Philippines, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to payroll calendars.
  • Review payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, salary changes, allowances, deductions, overtime, leaves, and benefits.
  • Validate payroll calculations and conduct pre- and post-payroll audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll delivery.
Statutory Compliance & Government Reporting
  • Act as the primary payroll SME for Philippine statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory reports.
  • Manage year-end processing activities.
  • Monitor changes in payroll legislation and implement required updates in payroll processes and systems.
  • Support government audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance assessments.
Payroll Governance & Controls
  • Maintain strong payroll controls and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Identify risks and implement corrective actions to strengthen payroll compliance.
  • Develop and maintain payroll process documentation, standard operating procedures, and controls.
Stakeholder Management
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and Employee Relations teams to address payroll-related matters.
  • Support employees with payroll, tax, and statutory-related concerns.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum 3- 5 years of payroll experience with at least 2 years handling Philippine payroll independently.
  • Strong experience managing complex payroll operations and statutory compliance.
  • Experience working in multinational organizations or shared services environments is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll vendors and payroll systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, ADP, CloudPay, or similar) is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting payroll audits and compliance reviews.
  • Experience in payroll transition, transformation, or system implementation projects.
