Job summary

Priceline is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Payments team to build and evolve systems that authorize, capture, and settle transactions across multiple methods and geographies. This hybrid role supports two days in-office and offers opportunities to work across global payment platforms.

You will mentor developers, design high-performance distributed architectures, and drive real-time data flows for accurate reporting and budgeting decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
• Exceptional coding experience with Core Java or similar programming languages.
• Interest in mentoring and influencing best practices.
• Strong grasp of SQL compositions for querying and analysis.
• Proficiency with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Drive mission-critical projects with direct impact on Priceline's business.
• Design resilient, fault-tolerant payment architectures for real-time decisions, risk integrations, refunds, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional agile team to deliver new product objectives.
• Architect and implement core, high-performance distributed systems processing millions of tracking events daily.
• Use cutting-edge technologies (Kafka, NoSQL) to achieve sub-10ms response times for attribution APIs at scale.
• Lead security and durability models for data ingestion, mentoring the team on scalable engineering practices.
• Provide real-time data flow for accurate campaign reporting and budget allocation.
• Understand codebase and business requirements quickly to implement changes.
• Influence team development efforts and communicate findings to stakeholders.
