Job summary

Maya Bank, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to design, deliver, and maintain scalable core payment systems. You will work within Maya’s Enterprise Services Engineering to build payment acceptance and integration platforms.

The role emphasizes building reliable services that adhere to engineering standards and best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to automation and CI improvements, and lead technical initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years software development experience in a similar role/stack.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8, Kotlin, or JVM-based languages (Scala, Groovy).
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and modern Spring Framework.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing (JUnit, Kotest).
• Experience with Git is required; Docker is required.
• Familiarity with event-driven, streaming data architectures (Kafka, AWS Kinesis, etc) is preferred.
• CI/CD and container orchestration (Kubernetes) knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, deploy, enhance and maintain payment platforms and services.
• Collaborate with team and stakeholders to design and deliver systems for various payment solutions.
• Help improve software engineering processes (CI, automation, etc.).
• Lead improvements via proofs of concepts and technology studies.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in engineering.
