Job Summary
Leads the field execution of after-sales Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services for Solar PV, hybrid solar, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) installations of MES internal facilities and external customers. Ensures safe and timely preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, system restoration, and customer technical support while leading O&M technicians and coordinating unresolved concerns with Engineering, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead After-Sales O&M Field Operations
- Lead O&M technicians in scheduled and unscheduled after-sales activities for MES internal facilities and external customer sites.
- Validate service requirements involving alarms, equipment faults, abnormal performance, and customer-reported technical concerns.
- Plan field work, assign technician tasks, and confirm tools, PPE, spare parts, and test instruments before deployment.
- Verify completed work and coordinate unresolved issues with the O&M Lead, Engineering, suppliers, and manufacturers.
Perform Preventive Maintenance and Reliability Activities
- Lead scheduled preventive maintenance of solar PV, hybrid inverter, BESS, electrical, protection, metering, grounding, and monitoring systems.
- Perform inspections, electrical measurements, torque checks, thermal inspection, cleaning coordination, and functional verification.
- Check inverter, battery/BMS, backup, zero-export, CT/meter, communication, and monitoring operation against expected performance.
- Identify developing defects or abnormal conditions and initiate corrective actions to minimize downtime and repeat failures.
Lead Corrective Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Restoration
- Diagnose inverter alarms, battery/BMS faults, AC/DC faults, protection trips, metering/CT issues, and communication or monitoring failures.
- Perform fault isolation, repair, authorized component replacement, functional testing, and recommissioning after corrective work.
- Confirm safe restoration of solar generation, battery charge/discharge, backup operation, and monitoring connectivity before closure.
- Escalate complex or recurring failures requiring engineering review, supplier intervention, warranty action, or root-cause analysis.
1.4 Support Customer Service, Warranty and Technical Escalation
- Provide professional on-site support and explain findings, completed work, system status, and recommended actions to customers.
- Gather alarm logs, operating data, electrical measurements, photographs, and equipment details required for technical investigation.
- Support warranty claims, equipment replacement, supplier troubleshooting, and post-repair validation in coordination with the O&M Lead.
- Ensure customer concerns are properly addressed and service activities are completed within applicable MES response and closure targets.
Ensure Safety, Service Quality and Documentation
- Conduct toolbox meetings and job hazard assessments; enforce LOTO, PPE, rooftop, working-at-height, and BESS safety requirements.
- Verify workmanship, manufacturer procedures, and proper use of test instruments during field activities.
- Complete PM, CM, field service, troubleshooting, measurement, equipment replacement, and customer closure records.
- Report major technical findings, unsafe conditions, recurring issues, and service risks promptly to the O&M Lead.
Develop O&M Team Capability and Continuous Improvement
- Coach junior technicians in safe work practices, maintenance procedures, electrical testing, inverter/BESS troubleshooting, and customer-site conduct.
- Promote discipline, accountability, teamwork, and ownership of after-sales concerns from deployment through closure.
- Share recurring field issues and lessons learned to improve maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and spare-parts planning.
- Support improvements that increase system availability, shorten restoration time, and improve customer satisfaction.
