Job summary

CHINT NEW ENERGY DEVELOPMENT PHILIPPINES INC. seeks an experienced O&M leader to oversee day-to-day operation of a solar PV plant, its substation and transmission facilities. You will monitor performance, lead preventive maintenance, and manage safety, budgets, and contractor coordination.

The role requires 8–10 years in power generation or O&M, a relevant engineering degree, and a REE license. Based on site in Butuan with on‑site work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• License as Electrical Engineer (REE) is highly preferred.
• 8–10 years in power generation, solar PV, electrical systems or O&M.
• 3–5 years in supervisory/managerial role.
• Strong experience in utility-scale solar PV plant operations and maintenance.
• Knowledge of SCADA, inverters, transformers, HV/MV systems, protection systems, substations and transmission systems.
• Experience coordinating with NGCP or grid operators is a plus.
• Solid understanding of HSE and electrical safety requirements.
• Willing to be based in Butuan on-site.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations
   • Oversee the day-to‑day operation of the solar PV plant, substation, transmission facilities, and associated systems.
   • Monitor plant generation, availability, performance ratio, energy yield, and equipment performance.
   • Ensure continuous and reliable plant operation and minimize downtime.
2. Maintenance Management
   • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
   • Supervise maintenance of PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, SCADA, trackers, substations, and other critical equipment.
   • Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of equipment failures.
3. SCADA & Performance Monitoring
   • Monitor plant performance through SCADA and other monitoring platforms.
   • Analyze generation losses, alarms, equipment trends, and performance deviations.
   • Recommend corrective and improvement measures to maximize plant output. CHINT's own O&M roles emphasize generation monitoring, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, SCADA/PLC systems, and contractor coordination.
4. Team & Contractor Management
   • Lead O&M engineers, technicians, operators, and support personnel.
   • Manage O&M contractors, service providers, and equipment suppliers.
   • Monitor contractor performance against contractual KPIs, schedules, quality, and safety requirements.
5. Safety & Compliance
   • Ensure strict implementation of HSE policies and safe work procedures.
   • Ensure compliance with applicable DOE, ERC, NGCP, DENR, LGU, Philippine Grid Code, and other regulatory requirements.
   • Lead emergency response, incident investigation, and corrective action implementation.
6. NGCP & Stakeholder Coordination
   • Coordinate with NGCP regarding grid connection, outages, switching, testing, protection systems, and operational requirements.
   • Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, suppliers, local communities, and other project stakeholders.
   • Participate in technical meetings and operational planning.
7. Budget & Spare Parts Management
   • Prepare and manage the O&M budget.
   • Ensure adequate availability of critical spare parts, tools, equipment, and consumables.
   • Monitor maintenance costs and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
8. Reporting & Documentation
   • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual O&M reports.
   • Maintain records of plant performance, maintenance activities, failures, incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
   • Present plant performance and major operational issues to management.
9. Continuous Improvement
   • Identify opportunities to improve plant availability, reliability, energy production, and maintenance efficiency.
   • Establish and monitor O&M KPIs.
   • Develop procedures and systems for long‑term asset reliability and optimization.
