Job summary

Energy Development Corporation is seeking a Technical Services Engineer to provide technical expertise across pre-sales, implementation, and operations & management, with a primary focus on O&M for solar assets. The role involves coordinating O&M activities, maintenance planning, and ensuring ESH compliance while engaging with multiple stakeholders.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree with at least four years in solar/renewable energy, familiarity with AutoCAD and project tools, and

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably in solar/renewable engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in solar/renewable energy and other electrical systems.
  • Experience maintaining a solar facility of at least 5MWp, preferably with Solar Asset Management experience.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, and Google Workspace.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct site visits.

Responsibilities

  • O&M Operations Monitoring: generate performance reports, review solar system performance, monitor monthly output and propose solutions for low-generation systems.
  • Maintenance Management: plan and budget preventive maintenance, monitor warranty claims, coordinate contractors, and oversee corrective actions.
  • ESH Compliance: manage emergency planning, troubleshoot and replace equipment, review incident and safety reports, deploy for emergencies.

Job description

Technical Services Engineer – Role Overview

The Technical Services Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and executing tasks across the pre‑sales, implementation, and operations & management stages, with primary focus on O&M.

Responsibilities
  • O&M Operations Monitoring
    • Generate performance reports for solar systems under contract
    • Conduct regular reviews of solar system performance
    • Monitor monthly output (solar and other applicable teams)
    • Propose solutions for low‑generation systems and detect anomalies
    • Regularly report to relevant groups
  • Maintenance Management
    • Plan and budget preventive maintenance
    • Monitor product warranty claims
    • Coordinate and engage contractors as needed
    • Manage timely corrective maintenance actions
  • ESH Compliance
    • Manage emergency planning and issue resolution
    • Oversee product troubleshooting and replacements
    • Review incident and safety reports from contractors
    • Suggest resolution actions
    • Deploy for emergency cases
    • Review troubleshooting methodology
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Pre‑sales: project scoping, initial design, customer meetings, site inspections, outsource service coordination
    • Preparation of proposals and TORs, bid solicitation, contractor coordination and clarifications
    • Project costing (outsourced & internal), project lifetime costing, and internal cost determination for implementation
    • Turn over project documents to implementation or O&M teams
    • Additional tasks as assigned
  • Implementation: contractor scoping, engagement, scope and timeline determination, design review, construction management, materials inspection, quality inspections, ESH compliance inspections, overall project management, and document handover to Arsenal or O&M teams
Key Competencies & Skills
  • Excellent technical skills in solar, energy storage, and other electrical systems
  • Experience troubleshooting solar and other electrical systems
  • Ability to manage solar assets to optimize performance, financial returns, and claims
  • Knowledge of operational permit applications and monitoring
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and make decisions/recommendations
  • Knowledge of risk management review and assessment
  • Customer engagement and management skills with business acumen
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills with various stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
