Job summary

MicroSourcing is hiring a Senior Mechanical Insulation Estimator to prepare cost estimates for HVAC ductwork, piping, plumbing, and related insulation equipment. You will perform quantity takeoffs, analyze drawings and specs, and develop detailed estimates using company software, collaborating closely with the U.S.-based team in daily coordination.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering background, 2–6 years of takeoff/estimation experience, and strong Excel and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or related field.
• 2–6 years of takeoff/estimating experience for duct and pipe systems.
• Proficient in HVAC and plumbing knowledge.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specs.
• Strong English written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans and specs to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical insulation work.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Develop estimates including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Review drawings to identify insulation requirements and challenges.
• Identify value engineering opportunities or cost-saving options.
• Ensure bid documents and addenda are incorporated into estimates.
