We are looking for a skilled Engineering Estimator to support our global clients by delivering accurate, timely, and data-driven cost estimates for engineering and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with analytical skills to interpret engineering drawings, evaluate project requirements, and prepare competitive cost estimates that enable informed business decisions.
As part of our engineering outsourcing team, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, operations, and sales, while working seamlessly across multiple client environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer RFQs, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, fabrication, machining, installation, and subcontracted services.
- Perform quantity take-offs and develop Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Analyze project scope, assumptions, risks, and cost drivers to ensure estimate accuracy.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production, and sales teams to gather technical and commercial inputs.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Develop pricing models and recommend cost optimization opportunities through value engineering.
- Support bid preparation, proposal development, and tender submissions.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost records, and pricing templates.
- Compare estimated costs with actual project costs and continuously improve estimation accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with client standards, engineering specifications, and quality requirements.
- Participate in technical discussions with internal teams and client stakeholders as required.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in engineering estimation, cost engineering, proposal engineering, or project costing.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in global teams.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates while meeting aggressive deadlines.
