Job summary

AEX Architects Exchange in Davao City is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead complex MEP projects within our engineering department. You will design, review, and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems while mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with standards.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, professional licensure (RME/PME) preferred, and at least five years of building services experience with UAE exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• RME/PME certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years UAE experience in mechanical building services design.
• Experience with engineering consultants or contracting firms.
• Strong knowledge of local codes and standards is an advantage.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join AEX Architects Exchange in Davao City, Davao del Sur. This is a full-time office position that plays a crucial strategic role within our engineering department. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading complex mechanical engineering projects, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior engineering staff. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our innovative architectural and engineering solutions, ensuring that all mechanical systems are designed and implemented to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

1. Design, review, and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems in compliance with regulations and project requirements.
2. Collaborate with Architects, Interior Designers, Structural Engineers, and MEP disciplines for project coordination.
3. Coordinate multidisciplinary projects across residential, hospitality, commercial, office, and villa developments.
4. Manage multiple projects and ensure timely coordination deliverables.
5. Support project teams in resolving design and construction coordination issues.

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
2. Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) or Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME). Professional certification is an advantage
3. Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in Mechanical building services design (preferred).
4. Experience with Engineering Consultants or Contracting Companies.
5. Strong knowledge of Dubai Municipality, DCD, DEWA, and other relevant local authority codes and standards is an advantage.
6. Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Core Technical Requirements:

1. Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM Revit MEP (preferred), HAP/Elite and other BIM platforms.
2. Strong Knowledge in load calculations, equipment selection, MEP design, specifications and quantification.
3. Thorough understanding of construction documentation and LOD100-LOD600 standards.
4. Familiarity with Autodesk BIM 360, Navisworks, and other AEC collaboration tools (preferred).
5. Ability to review and integrate architectural, structural, and MEP requirements.
