Job summary

RED Engineering Design in Manila is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding team. Based in our Manila office, you will plan and coordinate engineering project work and contribute to design activities to meet deadlines.

You will perform HVAC calculations, review proposals, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with design standards. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5–6 years of experience are required. We offer hybrid working and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating engineering project work and design activities to meet deadlines.
• Assists with mechanical technical design reviews.
• Reviews project proposals to input time frames, procedures, resources and allocations.
• Coach and mentor junior staff to become leaders.
• Perform HVAC calculations (Cooling/Heating Load, Ventilation) per project design brief and standards.
• Produce and analyse Room by Room HVAC performance criteria and plant room sizing.
• Monitor QA of 2D and 3D drawings.

We now seek a Mechanical Engineer to be based in our Manila office.

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning and coordinating engineering project work and design activities to ensure that project goals/objectives are accomplished within agreed deadline.
• Assists with mechanical technical design reviews.
• Reviews project proposals or plans to input into time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, resource requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
• Coach and mentor junior staff to become the next generation of engineers and leaders.
• Perform HVAC calculations but not limited to Cooling and Heating Load and Mechanical Ventilation calculations. But rather step by step and detail approach as per BSRIA design framework.
• Perform Area take-off and Space and volume analysis.
• Formulate and production of Room by Room HVAC Performance Criteria with reference to Project Design Brief and Governing Mechanical standard/code.
• Production and analysis of Mechanical services routes and Plant Room sizing with respect to Conceptual design stage.
• Perform duct and pipe sizing calculation, pressure drop calculation, system water content calculation.
• Perform Equipment sizing and selections with respect to production of equipment schedule.
• Monitoring and QA check of 2D and 3D drawings.
• “Acts in an Ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guideline.

Role Requirements

You will need to possess the following professional and technical expertise:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• A minimum of 5-6 year of work experience in engineering service design industry.
• Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
• Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the Group.
