About The Team

MONEE is hiring a senior Payments owner to establish strong local ownership of payments in Mexico across product, operations, and partner management. This role sits at the center of execution: improving payment and repayment user experience, increasing payment success rates, strengthening reconciliation and reporting, and building a more reliable internal payments stack.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who can move across product and operations comfortably. The right person should be able to improve checkout and repayment flows, work directly with PSPs and banking partners, build the reporting and controls needed to run payments well, and partner closely with Financial Operations to ensure settlement and billing are completed accurately.

Job Description

• Own day‑to‑day payments in Mexico across product, operations, reconciliation, and issue management
• Improve payment and repayment experience across MONEE’s commerce and BNPL journeys
• Build and strengthen the internal payments stack, including flows, reporting, and reconciliation outputs
• Investigate and resolve payment failures, delays, and exceptions with urgency
• Manage external partners end to end, including PSPs, banks, integrations, commercial terms, settlement, and billing reviews
• Monitor and improve key metrics such as payment success rate, reconciliation accuracy, and cost efficiency
• Work cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Risk, Finance, and Financial Operations to drive fixes and improvements

Requirements

• 5‑8 years of experience in payments, payment product, payment operations, financial operations, or related roles
• Strong understanding of payment flows, repayment flows, settlement, reconciliation, exception handling, and operational controls
• Experience working directly with PSPs, banks, or payment vendors across integration, performance management, and commercial discussions
• Strong product and operational judgment; comfortable improving both user experience and backend payment processes
• Ability to move from issue investigation to structural improvement, not just one‑off fixes
• Strong analytical capability; able to build reporting, interpret payment data, and turn findings into action
• Comfortable working cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Risk, Finance, and Operations
• Fluent in Spanish and English
